Abstract

Proses penuaan yang dialami lansia seperti perubahan atau penurunan fungsi fisiologis akan meninmbulkan berbagai masalah kesehatan. Salah satu dampak yang muncul pada lansia adalah penurunan fungsi otot dan tulang, hal ini akan menyebabkan lansia mengalami ketidakseimbangan tubuh yang mengakibatkan risiko jatuh. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan yakni melakukan latihan balance exercise. Tujuan dari penulisan Karya Tulis Ilmiah ini melakukan asuhan keperawatan pada lansia dengan risiko jatuh di UPT Pelayanan Sosial Tresna Werdha Jember. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan studi kasus dengan 2 partisipan yang dilakukan selama 6 hari pada periode 13 – 21 Desember 2022 di UPT Pelayanan Sosial Tresna Werdha Jember dengan intervensi balance exercise. Berdasarkan data yang didapat setelah diberikan intervensi balance exercise pada kedua klien tersebut selama 6 hari perawatan sangat efektif, dibuktikan dengan hasil Timed Up and Go test (TUG) dari kedua klien turun dalam interpretasi fungsi keseimbangan normal dan tidak ada kejadian jatuh berulang pada kedua klien tersebut. Kesimpulan dari penulian Karya Tulis Ilmiah ini menunjukkan bahwa latihan balance exercise sangat efektif untuk meningkatkan kekuatan otot ekstermitas bawah terutama pada lansia yang mengalami gangguan keseimbangan
