Abstract

Proses penuaan yang dikaitkan dengan terjadinya penurunan fungsi fisiologis pada lansia merupakan indikator awal munculnya gejala penyakit terkait usia. Perubahan fiologis yang sering dijumpai pada lansia yaitu pada sistem muskuloskeletal, seperti adanya keterbatasan sendi, perubahan postur, penurunan kekuatan otot dan ketahanan otot serta penururnan fleksibiltas yang menyebabkan lansia berisiko untuk jatuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan intervensi pada lansia dalam meningkatkan fleksibilitas pada lansia untuk mencegah risiko jatuh pada lansia. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur perkembangan pada lansia adalah Timed Up and Go Test (TUG) untuk mengukur risiko jatuh yang terjadi pada lansia. Hasil implementasi yang dilakukan selama 7 hari menunjukkan hasil terdapat penurunan skor TUG dari hari pertama yaitu 18 sampai evaluasi yang dilakukan pada hari ketujuh menunjukkan skor TUG 14, walaupun kategori tersebut lansia masih berisiko untuk jatuh, namun sudah terdapat perkembangan penurunan skor TUG di hari ketujuh. Sehingga hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa masih perlunya intervensi lanjutan yang diberikan kepada lansia secara berkala dalam peningkatan keseimbangan lansia melalui peningkatan fleksibilitas untuk mencegah lansia berisiko untuk jatuh.
