Pengelolaan Limbah Sekam Padi Berbasis Keberlanjutan dalam Rantai Pasok: Kajian Literatur

Peningkatan produksi beras menyebabkan meningkatnya jumlah limbah sekam padi dalam rantai pasok, terutama pada tahap penggilingan, sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan permasalahan lingkungan apabila tidak dikelola secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji berbagai strategi pengelolaan limbah sekam padi berbasis keberlanjutan dalam rantai pasok beras serta menganalisis potensinya dalam mendukung konsep ekonomi sirkular. Metode yang digunakan adalah narrative literature review dengan menganalisis berbagai artikel ilmiah terindeks yang dipublikasikan pada periode 2016–2026. Kajian dilakukan terhadap pemanfaatan sekam padi pada sektor energi, pangan, pertanian, dan material fungsional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sekam padi memiliki potensi besar untuk dikonversi menjadi biogas, biofuel, karbon aktif, silika, pupuk organik, senyawa fenolik bioaktif, serta serat pangan yang bernilai tambah. Pemanfaatan tersebut mampu mendukung pengurangan limbah, efisiensi sumber daya, penyediaan energi terbarukan, dan pengurangan emisi akibat pembakaran terbuka. Selain itu, pengolahan sekam padi juga berpotensi meningkatkan nilai ekonomi residu agroindustri dan memperkuat keberlanjutan rantai pasok beras. Namun, sebagian besar penelitian masih dilakukan pada skala laboratorium sehingga implementasi pada skala industri masih memerlukan pengujian lebih lanjut terkait aspek teknis, ekonomi, dan lingkungan. Kesimpulannya, pengelolaan sekam padi berbasis keberlanjutan dapat menjadi strategi penting dalam mendukung penerapan ekonomi sirkular dan pengembangan agroindustri ramah lingkungan, khususnya di negara agraris seperti Indonesia.
